Happy New Year.

Welcome to The College of Preachers.  And for an additional word of welcome, both to the College and to this New Year, please click on Paul Johns' video (right).

So, we stand at the gateway to 2012, with little idea of what lies beyond.  For those of you who preach - which we know many of you do - we pray you'll find inspiration as you exercise your ministry during this coming year.  Looking ahead to the first three quarters in particular, if you're seeking ideas for sermons, do read on and we'll tell you how we may be able to help...!

Our 'flagship' product.

We've just published issue no. 144 (pictured) of The Preacher, which we've titled 'And what would Jesus say?'.  This edition of our quarterly magazine provides lectionary-based sermons for every Sunday or red letter day in January, February and March, 2012.

You can browse sample pages from one back number - issue no. 142 - here.  If this convinces you to subscribe, you can do so today here; and you'll receive the latest edition and future editions by post, as well as gaining access to all issues from January 2008 to January 2012 inclusive via our Members' Zone.

Our National Conference.

In the new edition of The Preacher we've announced details of our next National Conference, which we've titled 'Sing the Lord's Song....'.  It will be held this June at The Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire (pictured). Singing's a metaphor for preaching; and the Lord's song book is the Bible.  We're called to preach in a strange land.  It's not a foreign or a hostile land, because it's God's world; it's holy.  But it's strange in that it's biblically illiterate, secularized - and going through a communications revolution.

We're still finalising the programme, but see how far we've got here; and if we've convinced you already, note that this event's now open for bookings!

Open for business.

Although we see ourselves primarily as a community, or fellowship, of preachers; and secondly as a non profit making or charitable organisation; The College of Preachers is also of course a business, in the sense that you can buy things from us.

On this website you'll find our shop.  Currently this offers seven 'products' for sale, all in accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Business:
'Alive to the Word' booking, £15.
'Sing the Lord's Song' deposit, £40.
The Preacher subscription or renewal, £25
'What Did You Make of Your Sermon' booklet, 10 for £10
